Troustrie House
Enjoy an outstanding stay in our traditional farmhouse, set at the end of a single track road, where the only other vehicle you're likely to encounter is the odd tractor, a horse, bike or dog walker.
Troustrie is a typical Scottish farmhouse, with a few extra details inside which suggest that it might have once been owned by a "bonnet laird". In 2004 it was completely renovated, restoring many period features, whilst adding the comforts that we expect in the 21st century - such as central heating and en-suite bathrooms.
Our breakfasts use locally sourced produce which is free-range and organic whenever possible, and we actively encourage recycling, biodiversity and garden almost entirely organically.

We've about seven acres in total, plus half an acre of stone built steading. In 2007 we planted 360 broad leaf trees, however, unfortunately over the past couple of cold winters the wild deer have enjoyed this extra food source so there is much work to be done to replant with better protection. Thankfully the prickly hawthorn hedgerows have fared better. It's all an ongoing project to create a small nature reserve.
There are various wooden benches around the garden where you can catch the sunshine, enjoy the view and the peace and quiet with your cup of tea or a good book.
And if you really can't manage for a couple of days without technology, rooms have digital TV with CD player, and wifi is also avaiable.
Troustrie is a non-smoking home, and we regret that we don't have facilities for young children.
